How would it feel to create the openness in your calendar to live out your passion for travel to Europe?

Like sitting in the park of the Champ de Mars while marvelling at the sparkling lights of the Eiffel Tower in Paris while enjoying a fresh baguette with delicious French cheese.

It might feel like you can never have that if part of you is thinking,

“I guess it’s a little ‘the grass is greener’ on the other side.”

I’ve been there too.

The Story We're Told About Trusting Logic vs. Intuition in Travel

In our culture, we are told that if it isn’t logical, then it isn’t real or valid.

But desire is not just about relying on logic, reason, or rationality. It is about:

  • Intuition

  • Receptivity

  • Curiosity

You may be asking yourself where this comes from, this idea that logic, rationality, and reason are superior to intuition, receptivity, and curiosity in Western culture.

This is a story of binaries which forms the hierarchical system of patriarchy. It comes from patriarchy.

The Binaries in Western Culture

In Western culture, these binaries often look like this:

  • Logic > Intuition

  • Mind > Body

  • Reason > Emotion

  • Action > Receptivity

  • Independence > Interdependence

  • Masculine > Feminine

These aren’t just neutral differences; they were historically organized into a hierarchy, where the traits associated with the masculine were treated as more valuable, more intelligent, and more trustworthy.

This hierarchical structure is what people refer to when they talk about patriarchy.

A system of values that elevates:

  • Feeling like you're in a silo

  • Constant cycles of keeping busy

  • Feeling like you have very limited time off to rest and recharge

While devaluing:

  • Intuition

  • Curiosity

  • Receptivity

  • Ease

Following Your Intuition to Travel

The desire to live out your passion for travel to Europe is not just about following logic, rationality, and reasoning.

I remember when I first started travelling abroad to places in Europe with my partner, not all of my family or friends understood the timing I had chosen for these trips.

Since I wasn’t just following logic at the time, but also following my passion for travelling, I was guided by desire and intuition, things that cannot always be rationalized or explained to other people.

Is Your Intuition Guiding You Toward Your Passion for Travel?

So, this story begs the question, could it be possible that the desire to travel aboard to Europe is trustworthy?

Is it possible that your desire is pulling you towards gazing up at the sparkling lights of the Eiffel Tower instead of an unrealistic possibility?

Desire Is Like a Magnet

You may not understand why you feel pulled toward something.

You may not have logical reasons to explain it.

But you can feel the pull.

And just like a magnet, that pull exists whether you rationalize it or not.

It doesn’t need to make logical sense to be real.

Desire works the same way.

It quietly pulls you toward something that aligns with you, even before your mind can explain why.

Why the Desire to Travel Feels Like “The Grass Is Greener on the Other Side”

But in our culture, we’re taught to distrust that pull.

We’re told to follow what’s:

  • Logical

  • Practical

  • keeping us in cycles of staying busy

So when we feel drawn toward something more, more ease, more creativity, more freedom, we tell ourselves it’s just “the grass is greener.”

But what if it isn’t an illusion...

What if desire is a magnet, gently pulling you towards gazing up at the sparkling lights of the Eiffel Tower at night?
